After setting up our tools and protecting any finished surfaces, we use industrial sanders to strip the old finish using Bona Atomic Dust Containment System.We typically begin the sanding process with the finest grid available, which reduces the time required and minimizes the amount of hardwood wasted. For the following step, leveling, we use the next consecutive grit of sandpaper – we never jump more than one grit.

Applying one coat of complete filler— Once we sand the floor, we trowel-fill the entire floor with wood filler to eliminate any small gaps or cracks that may be present on your floor.

As we progress in the sanding process, we use higher grits to achieve a flat and smooth surface. The TRIO, a special planetary sander, will be used in this fine sanding stage to smooth the floor completely.

Each time a floor is sanded, we can tailor the appearance to match your room’s or area’s decor scheme. One of the key benefits of our on-site services is the ability to customize the stain color after sanding the floor.

We vacuum the floor after each sanding stage or after each grit of sandpaper passes to remove any leftover debris, abrasive particles, or dust. Even with our dustless sanding system, we vacuum the floor and use a microfiber to clean the floor and go over it once more to pick up any fine dust that may be left before applying the first coat of finish.

So, we are ready to finish. We will start with one coat of water-based sealer. When the coat is dry, we buff the floor to a smooth finish. This step helps with a cleaner, smoother coat and proper adhesion.Applying an additional coat of finish is a key step in the process. Our three-coat finish process protects the floor from normal wear and tear and allows you to choose the sheen for the finish from low luster to high gloss, giving you the exact look you desire.
